“I love that quality in a commission or an art editor, where they can get you excited about an idea and turn you loose to create.” - Chad Hardin
From the archive of DC Comics artist Chad Hardin, a pin up poster of Spider-Man character “Black Cat”.
Created by writer Marv Wolfman and artist Dave Cockrum, the “Black Cat” (Felicia Hardy) first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #194 (1979). A sometimes love interest, sometimes enemy, sometimes ally of Spider-Man, Black Cat is a world-class second-generation burglar trained in various fighting styles and acrobatics. She is also powered with a subconscious ability to affect probability fields, producing "bad luck" for her enemies.
“This was a commission request from a fan in Hawaii. He gave me just enough of an idea to catch my interest and gave me room to interpret and apply my style to the pose and the look. I love that quality in a commission or an art editor, where they can get you excited about an idea and turn you loose to create.” - Chad Hardin
Chad Hardin grew up in the desert of Las Vegas, Nevada. His earliest work was animation of video games, including ‘God of War’ and ‘Destroy All Humans’. Today, he is best recognized as an illustrator of ‘Harley Quinn’ in the hit DC Comics series, and co-creator of ‘Temerity’ with Jemma M. Young.
